Basic Clinical Training

At Okayama University, we strongly promote clinical participation training (Clinical Clerkship) with the goal of enabling students to learn the fundamental knowledge, thinking processes, skills, and attitudes required as a physician by actively participating as members of a medical team.

From January of the 4th year to January of the 5th year, students rotate through 23 clinical departments, spending two weeks in each. By taking on responsibilities as members of the medical team and learning in a hands-on environment, students are expected to acquire essential clinical skills, as well as develop the ability and attitude necessary for establishing effective and trustworthy communication with patients and their families.

Basic Clinical Training Compulsory: A total of 46 weeks, covering 23 subjects (23 clinical departments), all compulsory.
