Degree Conferment Ceremony for the 2023 Academic Year Held at Okayama University Medical School, Faculty of Medicine
On March 25, Okayama University Medical School, Faculty of Medicine, held the 2023 Academic Year Degree Conferment Ceremony at the Junko Fukutake Hall.
The ceremony began with congratulatory speeches by Dean Shinichi Toyooka, Director of Okayama University Hospital Yoshinobu Maeda, and Graduate School Dean Keiji Naruse. This was followed by the presentation of degrees. On behalf of the 2023 graduating class, Ms. Eri Nakamori received her degree, as well as the “Okayama University Kurosho Award,” which honors students with outstanding academic achievement and character, along with a commemorative gift. Representing the graduates, Mr. Junichi Kinoshita delivered a heartfelt valedictory address. The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Mizuo Ando, Chair of the Faculty of Medicine.
In his speech, Dean Toyooka encouraged the graduates by saying:
“Today’s expert may not be tomorrow’s expert. Always maintain a mindset of lifelong learning. Take pride in being part of Okayama University, which boasts over 150 years of history, and continue to excel. I hope you will create a positive cycle where your achievements inspire future generations to take pride in their alma mater.”
After the ceremony, graduates took photos with family and friends, cherishing their final moments together.
This year’s graduating class, consisting of 119 students, persevered through numerous challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, including restrictions on student activities, and dedicated themselves to clinical training.
The faculty and staff sincerely wish all graduates the very best in their future endeavors.
