The 48th Shikata Festival: “A Shikata Festival You Can’t Ignore!” Was Held!
The 48th Shikata Festival was held on the Shikata Campus over two days, Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2.
Coincidentally, just like last year, it rained during the day on Friday, October 31, when preparations were underway. However, the rain gradually stopped as night approached, and the eve of the Shikata Festival kicked off.
The campus was filled with excitement thanks to “KING OF SHIKATA,” a comedy competition performed by specialists in laughter (or so they claim!).
On the morning of the festival day, a wide variety of food stalls lined the grounds, offering not only classic items such as grilled chicken skewers, fried noodles, and takoyaki, but also steamed buns, fried rice, naan curry, tteokbokki, kebabs, pork miso soup, soda with ice pellets, and various drinks.
Amid the delicious aromas filling the venue, the special stage featured dance performances, creative contests, and various events, drawing loud cheers for the performers.
In addition to the main venue on the field, music concerts were held in the gymnasium, a tea ceremony gathering took place in the lobby of the administration building, a photo exhibition was displayed in J Hall, and a medical experience booth was set up in the lecture rooms. These diverse activities made for a vibrant and joyful two days.
More photos and details from the event are posted on the Shikata Festival Instagram page, so please be sure to take a look:

Early on the morning of the first day—before the events even began—the dedication of the executive committee staff and food stall teams was particularly memorable, as they worked hard using sponges to soak up the puddles left on the ground. To all the staff members, thank you for your hard work.
And to everyone who attended, thank you very much.
We look forward to seeing you again next year with big smiles.
