Elective Clinical Training

At Okayama University, we strongly promote clinical participation training (Clinical Clerkship) with the goal of enabling students to learn the fundamental knowledge, thinking processes, skills, and attitudes required as a physician by actively participating as members of a medical team.

From January of the 5th year to August of the 6th year, students undergo 26 weeks of training, consisting of 20 weeks within the university and 6 weeks in external hospitals or departments of their choice. For students in the regional quota, 2 of the 6 external weeks must be spent in a course related to community healthcare.

Elective Clinical Training Compulsory: A total of 26 weeks
Training Period From January of the 5th year to August of the 6th year
  Select five courses from within the university’s clinical departments, each lasting 4 weeks.
Choose multiple courses from external affiliated institutions (including overseas) for a total of 6 weeks.
