76th Western Japan Medical Student Sports Tournament: Okayama University Won Overall Championship!

Okayama University Claims Overall Victory at the 76th Western Japan Medical Student Sports Tournament (Nishiitai) 2024!

The 76th Western Japan Medical Student Sports Tournament, commonly known as “Nishiitai,” was held from Monday, August 5, to Sunday, August 18, 2024.

Nishiitai is a prestigious sports tournament for medical students, with participation from all university medical schools located in Western Japan, spanning from Toyama City in Toyama Prefecture, Gifu City in Gifu Prefecture, Nagakute City in Aichi Prefecture, to Hamamatsu City in Shizuoka Prefecture. For medical school athletic teams, Nishiitai is considered the most significant and time-honored competition of the year.

This year, the event was hosted by Kawasaki Medical School and featured competitions in 20 sports, including hard tennis, soft tennis, soccer, semi-hardball baseball, archery, track and field, kendo, and more.

Thanks to the outstanding performance across various events, Okayama University emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious title of Overall Champion! Congratulations to all athletes and teams on this remarkable achievement!
