Study abroad

There are several programs at the Faculty of Medicine that allow students to study abroad without taking a leave of absence: study abroad language programs, medical research internships (research program), international clinical training programs (observation in the lower grades and participatory training as a member of a clinical team in the higher grades).

Apart from on-campus laboratories, students also have the option of completing their internships at leading national or international laboratories. As of this year, 327 students have completed medical research internships overseas (2001-2021).

【Participatory Clinical Training Opportunities Abroad】

The Faculty of Medicines actively promotes participatory clinical training. Since 2014, we have supported students who wish to take part in clinical training opportunities at all stages of their studies. Students are encouraged to become medical volunteers (first to third year) and participate in clinical training courses (fourth and fifth year). Sixth-year students can participate in elective clinical training, where they learn to work as members of a clinical team. As of 2020, 4 students have participated in clinical training opportunities abroad (2014-2020)
